What do you think of this?

Since the Pledge of Allegiance

and

The Lord's Prayer

are not allowed in most

public schools anymore

Because the word "God" is mentioned....

A kid in Arizona wrote the attached

NEW

School

prayer.

I liked it....

Now I sit me down in school

Where praying is against the rule

For this great nation under God

Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,

It violates the Bill of Rights.

And anytime my head I bow

Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,

That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.

The law is specific, the law is precise.

Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall

Might offend someone with no faith at all.

In silence alone we must meditate,

God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,

And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.

They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.

To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,

And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.

It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,

We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,

Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.

But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,

No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,

When chaos reigns the school's a mess.

So, Lord, this silent plea I make:

Should I be shot; My soul pleases take!

Amen

What do you think of this?

I like this very much.

May I have your permission to pass this on to my friends?

Thank you.

Peace.

Hey TD?????

Give up all of your cash and coins. Everytime you take them in to a school or public building you are carrying a prayer.

All the money says "In God We Trust" for a very good reason.

What do you think of this?

AMEN!

What do you think of this?

Why are you spamming us with this? It's not even true.

What do you think of this?

I've read it before. It's cute, but it's very simplistic. I don't agree with the pledge or prayer in public school.

What do you think of this?

pretty good pretty good.

What do you think of this?

What do you think of this?

Wow, that's a good poem. It is said though that prayer isn't being taught to kids anymore, but God has a way of making himself known even if use humans don't chose to acknowledge him.

What do you think of this?

Can't do it mentions God...

What do you think of this?

as long as there are exams in school, there will be praying!

What do you think of this?

I don't think much of it. If you want religion in your schooling go to a private school. There's suppose to be a seperation of Church and State, for the people who believe in different things all together. I go to a school where we have a strict dress code, no piercings other than a ladies ears, we have a moment of silence and a Bible club. I think this person should be close enough to God to know that if God wanted to be in every school, He would be. God allows himself to be taken out as a part of free will.

What do you think of this?

Got a point. I liked the poem. It makes ya think.

What do you think of this?

Sounds pretty stupid and uninformed. It's clear a small child wrote it . Without an understanding of history (such as the "under God" part of the pledge of allegiance was added in 1954, and that the founding fathers were not all Christian), idiocy like this "prayer" will come out more and more. Our teachers need to do a better job and show the truth that, as was approved by Congress in 1796, "...the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion..."

What do you think of this?

whats even more amazing is every courthouse has religous items in it. many courts make you pledge the flag before court starts. the supreme court has all in it everything it opposes in laws and cases. the constitution has seperation from church and state. the key word is state, not federal courts or supreme court. many states allow something and the government interfers from the very constituation it was written for.

What do you think of this?

Kind of silly don't ya think? some rings true tho

What do you think of this?

thats so cool i printed it :)

What do you think of this?

The poem is pretty good although it could use a little "tweaking"

I think there is a difference between "preaching religion" and "teaching religion" and people need to know the difference. I don't think people should be forced to pray in school, but what harm is a moment of silence so everyone can pray if they like. And anyone who doesn't like the words under God in the pledge of Allegience can just not say those two words when reciting the pledge. Never mentioning God in school is pretty hard when so many countries have their religion as the basis of their government. I think we need to learn about other religions in order to understand where these people are coming from.

What do you think of this?

Religion should be more tolerated, however I understand the reason behind abolishing prayer in school. Many students and their families may not be of the faith of which the prayer is being said. This disrespects members of other religions and athiests. As an Occultist I would be upset at any follower of the Occult path who forced his or her prayer on to others. I would expect the same from any other religion.

Hails,

Silence
