Making children hair bows?

Does anyone know how to make hair bows and clips? Is it easy to do. I was wanting to learn and sell them. Does anyone else do this and is it worth it?

If you want to make and sell hair bows I would suggest making something that no one else makes. Or find a neat new trick you can do with ribbon. This way you get to make a really good profit off of your bows. Ebay is saturated with really good bows and bow makers that have their own click and marter stores, so do your research. Have fun!!

Now why would you want to put something so ugly on a baby? My advice, forget the idea and don't make them.

Not worth the time for the money. I make them for my daughter because it's cheaper to make them than buy them. I can't see making a living off of making them though. My daughter has very fine hair so I found hair clips at a beauty supply store and was able to use ribbon from a craft store to make them. The key is to make the bow before attaching it to the clip. Use a low heat hot glue gun as well; high heat will burn the ribbon.

Hey...get this e-book....I make all of my daughter's bows....this gives you links to wholesale ribbon distributors etc....you would have to be very dedicated to make money selling bows....but there are lots of groups on ebay...check out www.journalmodiste.com too....

if you have spare time i think its worth it. my mom did it for me when i was younger and she does it for my 3 little girls. just buy the plain clips from any arts and craft supply store, get bows, beads etc. a hot glue gun and your imagination! i use butterflies that look so real, they are attached to a thin wire, i just wrap them around their ponytail and it looks so cute. have fun with it.

There are guides available on Ebay, but I think, the market is very oversaturated, there are a lot of people out there selling those bows, unless you find a very own unique style, I guess, it's too much effort for too little money.

My DD used to wear handmade custom bows, matching her Gymboree-clothes, until last year - now she doesn't want to wear them anymore...:-((( I bought them off Ebay back than.
