How long does it take for a newborn to grow hair?

My daughter is 8 weeks old and she is very beautiful...but she has hardly any hair. She's got kind of like an old man hair do going on. She has hair around her head and she's bald on top. I was just wondering if anyone knows how long it takes for bald babies to grow a full head of hair. I want to put bows in her hair so bad! :(

lol don't worry about it she'll get hair soon enough. My daughter was born with a FULL head of dark brown beautiful head of thick hair... and she lost it!! I thought she would NEVER grow her hair back! :((.. she was a yr and a half before she started getting curls in the back of her head and on top. She is 2 1/2 now and has beautiful hair, so cute and curly!

Don't worry, it'll happen, she wont have the old man look forever ;)

Gratz on your lil precious!

Remember every baby is different!

My daughter was born 6 weeks early and is now almost 6 months and she was born with a lot of hair. My cousins baby was a little over a year when his hair grew back.

It's different for all babies.

My sis has a set of boy/girl twins that are almost a year (this saturday!) and the boy has a headful of mammoth hair that just grows and grows, while the girl has hardly any peach fuzz on her head. It can take a year or longer to grow thicker hair.

It varies. Some babies are born with lots of hair. My son and my grandson were quite bald until about 12 months.
